Know the PositionEmployers would always – always – ask what position you’re applying for. It’s important that you know what the job entails because that would be a guaranteed follow-up question. Make sure you have enough knowledge of what is expected of you, not to mention the overall nature of the company, employers like that. Don’t Blend InBeing just another part of the hopeful applicants won’t do much good. Try to stand up from the crowd. This would mean polishing your resume and highlighting your skills and achievements. Check out sites that would help improve on your resume. When showing up for an interview, make sure you’re dressed to impress. Presenting a professional profile is a must without the added jewelries or strong perfumes. Simple and neat is the way to go. In Your HandsYou’d be amazed how much information one can get from a handshake. Firm handshakes partnered with eye to eye contact exude confidence. No GroupingTry to look for jobs by yourself. Job hunting with friends may lessen the uncomfortable feeling, but it’s not really a big help. Try to build up your confidence by going out on your own. Think FirstEmployers sometimes ask unexpected questions. Believe it or not, these questions are important, if only to see how you answer them. Words like “err...uh...um...” would subtract much needed points, not to mention make you look dense. When confronted with a difficult query, compose answers in your head before voicing it out. Also, keep your answers as short and as simple as possible. |
